I completed this kit a few months back but was not able to finish the paint job and the weathering. I restarted work on it a couple of days ago and just finished (I think) last night.

I was not really so interested in this particular Tamiya kit but it was given to me as a gift by my office mates. And I am glad that they did because after all it is really a good kit. This is basically a version that never got into production. The most common version was armed by a single 37mm AA gun while this one supposed to have four 20mm AA guns.

Well, some parts of the figures still shone under heavy light (and some seams, too) and I might need to do something about that tonight.

I enjoyed doing this one. Just want to share with you. Hope you don't mind.

Obiwan: Yes I like taking pictures this way because it gives much focus on the model and much more meaning to the term "darkside". LOL. Salamat sa comment, pare.

Very nicely done Dwight. Awesome job on the weathering, makes it really look like it's seen some action. Thanks for posting it, might have to look for that interesting kit one of these days. By the way how do you get the lighting to focus only the model and not illuminate anything else, real great looking effect.

Nicely finished Dwight.

She's an oldie but a goodie - I have one of these too.

It's not up to the quality of Tamiya's latest mobelwagon, but still makes up to a nice kit and painting and weathering like you have done really brings out the best in the kit.

Good to see you have been giving the old camera a work out lately. I am enjoying the pics.

Lighting effects? Ah, it's the dining table effect, actually. LOL. I take my pics with the model on top of our dining table which has a 1/2 inch thick bronze tinted glass top. If you position the lamp right above the model with light perpendicular to the table surface the most of the light will not be reflected but will just pass through the glass. Taking pics from angles above the model reduces the reflections making the background look very dark. Be careful about the flash, however. At some angles the flash will be reflected on the surface causing some glare.

Actualy I tried also the blue background and kinda like it. But since I really don't have a special space for photography and need to build up the background everytime, taking pics on the dining table saves me a lot of time.

Looks great ! - the weathering is awesome - very convincing - Way to beat up that AA battery

I use the dining table method too Dwight. Only My wife happened to have a blue table cloth that I just pull up behind the model for pics. No need for the extra space either.
