Top Gear Alfa Challenge
Posted by OctaneOrange on Thursday, August 25, 2011 12:42 AM

Top Gear (UK) had a challenge, to buy an Alfa Romeo for less than £1000 for Racing and a Concours show. The GTV is a tamiya kit box stock. the 75 was a diecast Bburago kit that i repainted green, and the Spider was a diecast that i repainted silver and also  updated to an 80s style (black bumpers, new rims, bigger headlights, new grille). i added correct number plates to finish off the look.

We don't do many diecasts here, but the model you built sure came out nice!

Nice job!

If I have one comment, it's that you did too good of a job building Jeremy's 75 -- his full-size version looks much worse than your model!

Neat, but if you can do then with styrene kits then you can 'superdetail' them to include Jezzers leather jacket Hammond cut up and used as a seat cover (making sure the scale staples are visible ) and his hand cranked water pump. The major dents and scraps where Jezzers rolled his ...and dont forget addind numerous dent to James car where they kept hitting his car...bonus points for a tow strap LOL. Seriously- nice models :-)
