Hi Wreklund, I did this model too, your foil looks quite tidy from what I can see in the pictures.... I used chrome in the kit I built... It's always an idea to make a template of the part with masking tape, transfer the tape to the foil then remove the part from the foil whilst the tape is still attached... This makes BMF much easier to manage.. Plus it stops it wrinkling up..

Bare Metal Foil

Hey Guys, I visit the forums every day and have developed a feel for most of the regulars around here. I read most of the posts and occasionally post a post myself.

I currently have about 10 "irons in the fire" and tonight made my first attempt using Bare Metal Foil. I have to say that while I was very aprehensive and nervous about using the product, I am very pleased with the experience and the results. I see most of the posts here and must say that I have seen some "so-so" foil jobs and was so afraid that it may be above my abilities. At the same time, I have seen some spectacular detailing using foil.

I am posting some pic's of my first attempt and would like some crytique. I know that the photo's I've posted don't amplify the foiling, but I think they give enough evidence of my work. I found the foil very easy to work with and was very surprised with the ease of application and the overall results. I'm using the "black Chrome" foil as I am going for a silver/black theme on this build. Any advice or experiences to share??

(I've postponed the foiling of the windshield & wipers until another night. It's getting late)Zzz [zzz]

Oh, yeah...Doog, this is the Revell/Monogram kit, (85-7457) I'm also doing the same kit as a "junker" and plan on displaying these 2 kits as a "then and now" display.
