1/8 - 1/9 scale PE details for bikes?
Posted by larryd on Thursday, September 18, 2008 12:59 PM

I've done some extensive searches and haven't come up with much of anything.

I am looking for 1/8 to 1/9 scale details in PE or other mediums for a motorcycle project I've been at for awhile now scartchbuilding the devil out of an old Revell/Monogram 1/8 1200 custom kit.

I would like to find some stuff like hose clamps and fittings, bolt heads, cable clamps and other stuff in this approximate scale without scratching everything I need as I've been doing.

This 11 year old kit has tooling that's probably even older than that. Frankly it's poor quality with very minimal or completely left out details. And some pretty no-no faults, even on the cover art. Many of the parts are molded off-center, a real work to repair. The chrome is useless on about every part, what little there is. They want you to believe that silver-gray styrene in the box actually looks like chrome. :) I can't believe I paid $20.00 for this kit back then.

But the basics are there for a decent custom with a lot of work. I'm just getting tired of making everything, so if anyone has some suggestions?  Car stuff in this scale that can be used is welcome also. :)
