No.  The subject is different; the techniques are not.

Sign - Ditto [#ditto] It all depends on your expectations of what you want your finished project to look like. Back in the early '90's I got into a major building rut. Everytime I picked up a Scale Auto Magazine I felt like my models were lacking due to the "Super Builds" being featured. So I started super detailing my Pro Stock and Nascar models with every aftermarket or scratch built details imagineable. I was spending weeks detailing the engine...Long story short I dreaded looking at the bench let alone sitting down and applying myself. Ended up packing all that stuff away and dropping out of the hobby for awhile. Then one day I felt like modeling and built an aircraft model. Basic out of the box build...What a relaxing satisfying build. Yrs have gone by and I model full time again, but still mostly OOB (out of box) builds. I leave the super detailing to the other guys as I build for myself and not other's expectations.   Sorry for dragging this out, but build away and have fun doing it .

Depends on how much work you want to put into it. A quick rattle can paint job and minor sanding of seams along the edges can put a slammer on your shelf in a day. But a full engine bay plumbing and wiring, brake lines, seaming the engine/tranny, precise interior painting and detailing and a deep, rubbed out glossy finish can take a good deal of time.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Hi fellow car models, I have been back in modeling for a year now and still learning and my interest have been mostly aircraft, but have loved cars equally as much which include hotrods of the 50's and early 60's and muscle cars, but I haven't modeled any yet untill now, MY request for help is this, is car modeling any different from modeling planes  as far as building is concern, like in glueing, filling in seems, painting and so fourth, for example I want to build the 70 buick GSX and two other kits I have and I want to build them right, also this might be a silly question, but do cars take as much time as aircraft do modeling,  any advise would be very appricated in any areas of car modeling-thank you
