Putty

BigJim, you would probobly get more response to this question down in the Techniques section.I myself prefer to fill round holes with a piece of stretched sprue to the same size of the hole rather then putty. But when it comes to Putty Preference I like the Squadron White and Green, I use two part exoxy types such as Tamiya Polyester Putty,& Milliput Superfine White for large areas of body work or modifacation.  The only Putty I have used and Did Not Like was Testors White Putty - stay away from that stuff unless you are a glutton for punisment.

Whatever's on hand.  Usually Squadron green or Bondo auto body spot filler.

I know all too well about that stuff! I haven't had the need for a putty in ages, that's why I asked.
Didn't know about a techniques section and now that I have looked, I don't see one either..
