The cats in the bag

A lot of cats would leave stuff alone but think what a coon or possum would do hide the shiny.

I too am a victim of cats. I usually keep the door to my hobby room shut, but the one time it was open my wife's cat jumped straight to a display shelf and knocked my 55 chevy stepside to the floor. I still have the pieces of the truck in a box. I haven't had the heart to rebuild it.
And don't get me started about kids.....

Do you have a problem with plastic eating cats? Dogs who chew styrene? Kids or adults who play with our super detailed show winning miniature works of art?
Call me, have gun will travel.

My dog knows not to come into the model room, she will lie at the door and go no further. Cats, yes I had one knock a fully rigged wooden model sailing ship that had taken about 3 years to build off a shelf that I thought would be impossible for the cat to get at and with no where to go once there why would it want to ? Because there was something to knock off of course!!

Cats are nothing.
Dogs are nothing.
Kids, now there is the problem!!
I have been modeling with my sons since they could hold a brush, they are now 19,16,13 and if I ever can't find something on MY bench all I have to do is look over at one of theirs.
Can't seem to be able to train the 16 year old to put the cap back on the TEN X, he has quite a collection of empty bottles. . .

while Dogs typicaly wont jump on tables or window ledges whatever the cat knocks on the floor is fair game! and usually destroyed if the cat didnt do it already!

I had a dog that would chew anything that fit in it's mouth so I don't think dogs are any safer around models.

I had to install a doorlock into my hobby studio. Here's why: My kittens have decided it is their quest to try to knock over any type of liquid I have on my desk. My brush water has been tipped over at least 3 or 4 times. Yeahhh...that ruins decals something awful. BUT, I nearly killed them (and I do mean KILLED them ) when they knocked a model sailing ship off my desk. This ship was my great grandfathers...all scratchbuilt in wood. I was in the proccess of resoring it. When I found it, the rudder was broken, the keel smashed, the figure head ripped off, and two masts broken off at the bases. And the rigging had been virtually destroyed!!
AUGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. The only thing that saves them is that they're too dumb to even know they did something bad. *sigh*

Thanks for the heads up. Our cat gets into everything, but so far my model area has been save.

Oh, my models had to stay in covered shelves as the only cat I ever had would be walking on the ceiling and fall sometimes

Are they fixable?

One reason why ALL dogs are better than ANY cats. Period.

My cat couldn't care less about my models but I do have to keep the window area free incase he desides he wants to peek out or is in hot persuit of a fly or bug.

At least it's not as bad as a 2 year old can do. Mine has taken off with large pieces that I have yet to find again. I know about the show deal to, had an antenna dissapear at the last one I was at.

You ever have a model on display, pick a site, Hobby shop, mall show, contest, and have some sausage fingered ADULT start flicking at it?
Cats are basically stupid and . . .well I guess some people are too.
My wifes cat never goes in the model room I have in the basement, he's scared to death of the furnace!!

What is it with cats and models and model areas? My wifes two cats are always snooping around my work bench sometimes sleeping on it and god forbid if I should leave a small part out on the work bench....it will be lost for all eternity!

I think I have cured my wifes cats of this though.....least they havent gone near the workbench in a week! Wont say how though as she may decide to read this.
