Thanks for the help guys,

I already filled the fender vents, and am still working on the grill, I built it up with styrene strip and the rest will be squadron white putty. ultimategto.com has been a great resource.

I'm going over tomarrow to take a look at his GTO so I can get a few more details and sneak some cell phone pics. Its hard to get over to look at the car cause our work schedules never line up right. The crosshatch light trim tip is a huge help, so far I had over looked that.

I'll post some WIP pics tomarrow, the build is going pretty well and the body work should be done by tomarrow night.

If you're converting a '72 kit to a '71, you'll need to fill the vents in the front fenders, somehow remove the "cross hatch" trim from the front parking/indicator lights, and make the correct grill. EasyMike is right-on about ultimategto.com; it's an excellent resource.

Good luck with the build.

In progress: Hasegawa P-51D/K (being built as a D), Tamiya Morris Mini Cooper 1275S, Testors Kaman H-43B Huskie (held up by lack of parts)

To be resumed sooner or later: Academy M151A2 with Eduard photo-etch

According to these folks, there is no factory blue interior.  http://ultimategto.com/cgi-bin/statsexplorer.cgi?year=1971&f1=clrmatrix

Talk to your friend.  You ought to be able to finagle the interior color of his car without giving yourself away.

71 GTO question

Just need a bit of info from a GTO expert Bow [bow]

A friend of mine has a Lucerne Blue 1971 GTO and I'm converting a 1972 AMT GTO into his 71' as a gift, but I don't have any access to his car to see what the interior color is. I'd like to get this model as close to his car as possible with only the 1 reference photo, which is on my cell phone, that I have. My question is what color should the interior be? I know the exterior is Lucerne Blue, and the interior is dark. Also the car is stock, just a regular GTO, no special order or anything. I thought the interior was a dark blue, but according to a chart I found online the options for the interior color did not include blue, leaving the only option as black. Is this correct or could it be blue?

Thanks, Crazygerman
