The turtle was polishing compound is great stuff, and is necessary for sure if you paint with acrylics and wnat a high gloss, but you need something else.  Hit it with colorback wax(or even regular turtle wax liquid wax will work).  That will bring out the shine, as the polishing compound will smooth it out.  Now if you want a nice deep finish, then after the polishing and before the wax, use meguires show car glaze or something like that.

So I took it outside while ago to take pics in natural light, because the flash and the indoor lighting both made the sparkles invisible, plus made it look.. not shiny at all.  I thought about using the "Lacquer Wet Look" I have, since its from the same "Testors System" but I don't know how it would effect the clear and chrome parts.  Also, what kind of polish do you use?  I tried using the Turtle Wax Polishing Compound my dad has but, just like it did on his real car, instead of making it shiny it made it dull (not this model, another one I have around somewhere.. lol) even though I followed the instructions..

It's a repack, same as their 612 kit. Which shares alot of parts with the superamerica, both in the kit, and in 1:1.

 

Good job on the model.  Looks good.  Some clear, and then some polish would make it look a little better but it looks good as is, especially the engine.

I've actually been working on this off and on all week, and finally finished it up tonight.  Using this nice gallery as a painting reference, because the instructions were very.. wrong.. especially the interior, I think it came out pretty good.  I decided to not go with Italian Red.  I went with.. erm some sparkly black color?  Whistling [:-^] I actually was trying for the grey color that is shown in that gallery when I bought this paint (one of the model master lacquer spray cans) but ended up liking this better. The sparkly bits are hard to see in the pics, but it looks even better in person.  Oh, and someone at Revell needs to learn what 1:1 means.  In the instructions it had a "1:1 Template" for the mesh cutting.. yeah it was about 3/4 size, and it showed the mesh for each little side grille was about 2x bigger than the one in the hood.. but its not 

Things I love about this kit:
Wheels roll/front ones are steerable
Convertible top actually opens and closes
Hood opens a decent amount without having to be ripped off the car
Pretty easy to assemble, one of the best Revell kits I've done in a while

Things I hated about this kit:
The dash.  It's well detailed, looks nice, but instead of doing like MOST kits and sitting in the interior pan and then being inserted up into the body, they decided to make half the dash sit in the pan and the other half slide into little slots in the body.. and they didn't line up right when I put it together.. no matter what I did.. so there's kinda a noticeable gap along the passenger side where the glove compartment is.
The hood doesn't quite close right either.
All those tiny Censored [censored] decals that went on the wheels.  Even after drying/sealed in they flaked off when I bumped the wheel -_-;

Kit I Used: Ferrari Superamerica, Revell kit 85-2034 from 2007.  I bought it on a whim from someone I bought a few more kits from and am pretty happy with it.  And while the kit I built it from was a normal "Revell" box, with "Revell-Monogram" under the copyright date, some of the ones I found when tryin to find a image to post here of the box was a "Revell of Germany" box.. makes me wonder if its just a re-packing or a re-casting.
