Good job on all the models. Particularly the GTX.

The Deora is actually a Hot Wheels car from the 60's that MPC (EMT?) used for the basis of the kit. The Lil' Red Express sounds like a good challenge, but I would have to go with the red paint and the verticle side pipes .

The Lil Red Express kit by AMT is a re-release of an MPC kit from about 1979 or 1980. Most of MPC's tooling was----kinda primitive by today's standards, and AMT hasn't changed anything.

To be fair, I look at this kit as a challenge. Because it is. A good way to look at it, is to call it "A builder's kit". For experienced builders. It takes experience just to get the thing together.

BUT it is well worth it. I had fun with it, and I want another one. I would recommend this kit to anyone wanting a good challenge

I kinda hot rodded this one in reverse. Instead of the Lil Red, it's a base D-100. Instead of the 360 Express V8 engine, it has a 225 Slant 6 in it. The wheels and slant 6 engine came out of another MPC kit, a wild custom show car called the "Deora". Only one I have ever seen. Has anyone else ever seen the "Deora" kit?

Hey Darrin....you were right man I busted open my Duster very early this morning...AMT hit a home run with this one! Absolutely perfect moldings....No flash on any of the trees! Very few mold lines...and the ones that are there are easy enough to work with!

Now if AMT could just do this good on the rest of thier kits, they'd be doing a lot better!

Well I really like the detail you out into the little red x's alot.

Those are sweet, really love the 442.

Overall, the Duster is the finest AMT kit I have ever seen. Have you opened yours yet? The detailing is crisp, especially the separate side panels on the interior assembly, allowing ful full-depth door handles and armrests. The engine in mine has the tuned port injection option in the kit. It looks outstanding with dual throttle bodies and K&N looking tapered air filters.
The tires are Good-year Eagle F low profile unidirectional radials on 17 inch rims, the fronts being a little narrower than the rear.

I liked it enough that I bought another kit and I'm going to do even better on it! It truly is a nice kit.

WOW Sweet looking Wheels! My wife wants her VW Bug in the saphire blue....I have a few bottles handy! Im going to spray it over a silver base coat though....Love the Duster though. I have the same kit here....how was the build on it? Any major problems or just typical AMT BS?
