1962 Pontiac Catalina, lot's of pictures

Hi guys!

This is a build that has been going for a while. Keeping it pretty simple without much extras. Spark plug leads added under the hood and I think that'll do but then again some leads to and from the battery will add a great deal.

Interior got some small tricks like new knobs on the dash and side panels, otherwise it's pretty basic indoors too.

Body is painted in some strange gold colour that changes towards green in some lights and HoK Tangerine candy on the roof. Topped of the gold with a flat clear coat with a tad yellow pearl mixed in it.

Foiling's done both interior and exterior. Layed in a carpet and mixed a colour to match the roof and lightly sprayed it on.

Supposed to be ready for the first show of the season, CCM-Open (Capital City Modeler Open) in Stockholm second weekend of february. Think I got a fair chance to pull that off even with three lilltle ones that take up a lot of time.

Well, here's a bunch of picutres for you to look at.

'Til later...

Nice looking build! I look forward to seeing more.  I always loved the Catalina. Big old boat that car was.

Are the window cranks and door handles scratch built?

the interior is flawless

but the eng could use a wash  ---- use the same silver for the carbs mix a hint of blk and wash over them it will take away the plastic look and give more depth to the color  .  same with the intake manifold mix a drop of black in with that color wash in into the corners etc  for more depth

Yeah, you're right about the need of a wash. It'll take place in the interior as well to bring out even more depth to the already deep buttons.

I will certainly consider doing it under the hood too.

The interior is pretty much box stock except the knobs, window cranks is the ones cast in place on the sidewalls. Just cut off the knobs and used the small piece that I cut of from the big knobs on the dash. Sort of recycling a waste product.

The carpet you can see how it was done on another yet to be finished car, my '64 Impala.

Take a look here and you'll see what I did. Rather simple but effective.
