I've had this problem with some armor items I've painted.  I use the purple stuff from Walmart and have had to let it soak up to a week or longer.  Just check on it from time to time as it wou't hurt the plastic.  You can try the brake fluid approach like EasyMike suggested, as with everything try it on some scrap first.

EDIT: If you're going to leave it in the purple lake for a long time make sure you cover the container as it will evaporate.

Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.

Contact Revell and see if you can determine what they used.

Automotive brake fluid will eat paint.

It probably has a tough lacquer on it that can be hard to get through.

Try Gunze (Mr Hobby)  Mr Paint Remover if you can get some or check DIY stores for a NON-CAUSTIC domestic paint stripper.   Failing that you could use an ordinary stripper but work VERY quickly with it getting it under a running tap before it can damage the plastic - a bit dodgy but it can work!

I'm hoping someone has done this. But I have th Revell 1/12th scale Ferrari F2002 model, but it's pre painted. I don't know why they did this. Anyway has anyone tried to remove the factor paint.

Here is what I have tried.

Simple Green. Soaked for 24 hours, and nothing.
Castrol Super Clean degreaser. Soaked for 24 hours and again nothing.
Easy off oven cleaner, for 24 hours. And again nothing.
Tamiya paint thinner, both acrylic and lacquer. Nothing.

Nail poslish removed damaged the plastic. I didn't soak it either. It stripped the paint but it soften the plastic.

Any help??? I'm running out of the plastic tree to test on.
