This is my first effort with aftermarket decals.  I love the cars.  It's a shelf-model as it wouldn't win any contests to speak of.  The side windows were a new venture for me (not happy) and the hood and side skull decals posed a good challenge that I over came.  It's 99.9% complete except the side mirrors completely disappeared off of my workbench when they were there no less than a day previous.  I've either got invisible cats, or my kids did something with them.  *sigh*

Wow, that looks freakin sweet! Tell us more about the kit and the decals... I think it would hold its own in a contest. Nicely done!

Nice build Mike.  Great work on the decals.  I would be tempted to go out and buy another kit just for the mirrors......

Again, very nice build.

Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement.

The kit itself is rather straight forward and minimal.  No engine detail really and no other chassis/drive train detail either as 90% of it is covered by the floor pan.  Understandable why Revell did it.  On a whole, the kit built up really well.  The only fit issue I had was on final assembly, the front of the pan pulled down towards the ground.  Not bad enough that glue wouldn't hold it though.  The decals are Scale Motor Sports and are very well done and nice to work with.  They are not pre-cut for the car, so putting "Jake" the skull mascot on the car was a real challenge.  Here's a link to a tutorial I've posted on the decaling process.  /forums/1114312/ShowPost.aspx#1114312

I think Revell would be able to replace the mirrors either for free or for the cost of shipping.

The car looks cool! I love the sound of these things on the track, my favorite sports car noise.

Mike,

Nice build.  Are we going to see Jake's evil twin?  I really need to get a set of those decals.  Too coolThumbs Up [tup] Bummer about the mirrors though.

Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.

I may have to do that.  They still haven't turned up.  LOL

I have considered making Jake's evil Yellow twin too.  I'd have to buy another set of decals though.  SMS didn't supply enough to do both cars.
