The only fit issue I've run across so far is the rear wing/intake opening. I'm using a bit of styrene to fill the little gaps. Not done with it yet in this photo!

Thanks guys.

I finally got to start on mine, yesterday at my model car group build session. With this really being my first Tamiya build. I have to say, WOW! I am very impressed with this kit and I am having allot of fun with it. As soon as I have a little more done, I will post some pics.

I am building mine as if it was a hobby racer's SCCA club car and open track event race car. I have had an idea to build something just like this for a long time, and wanted it to be a 911. I thought that I was going to have to get a street car and make a roll cage and other race stuff. Then when I saw this kit at my friend's hobby shop. I had to get it. I never saw it before. My friend told me that this kit had been on his shelf for years. LOL!

I have this currently on my bench, but when it will be completed is a different story. Love the fit of parts and will make this a true road car as I have filled the fuel filler door on the hood.

Tamiya typically prodices some beautifully engineered kits. I haven't built that one in particular, but I have built some others from the same era. They were typical Tamiya: very little flash, if any; very fine mold lines that are a breeze to remove; nice detail, and exceptional fit. The most difficult part would be the painting for me. The only downside I could mention is that on some kits the interior door panels are not seperate parts, but molded with the rest of the interior tub, which makes them a pain. With your car building experience, you should have an easy and fun build with this one.

Hi, I am new here. Been lurking for a wile and thought that I would post.

This is the kit I am talking about.

Any of you have built this? Would love to see your pics and any input on it.

I have been building model cars for about 25 years. Been all Revell, Monogram, AMT, MPC & JoHan. I have bought a bunch of Tamiya and other models from Japan but have never built any of them.

I saw this kit the other day at my local hobby shop and had to get it. This will be my first Tamiya undertaking. I am looking forward to it and love this looks of this kit.

Thanks

 Matt
