                        Here are the body parts after painting.The color is a custom-mixed blend of Tamiya Red,black and white I call Monsoon Maroon.

                        Is this the Lindberg kit. If so I was wondering what you think of it. I was thinking of picking it up to chop it into a rat rod. Is the detail good, and how is the drivetrain. I'm not to crazy about the Lindberg offerings.

                        It is a poor kit so I have to use the chassis from the '41 Lincoln kit and the rear diff and front suspension from Revell's '40 Ford kit.The engine has no cylinder head detail so I spliced two heads from the Revell V-8 flatheads to make the Lincoln V-12 cylinder heads.

                        it's a shame it's so poor.. I have this kit too but yeah.. if it's that bad I dunno that I'll actually do it.. I just liked how well my lindberg petty belvedere came out and figured most lindbergs would be that good. 

                        I like the color you used on yours, reminds me of the one I used for my 46 ford convertible.

                        I painted the white walls by airbrushing Tamiya flat white through a circle template.

                        Just a minor update(Haven't worked on it much due to other priorities).Installed the engine,front and rear suspension components.Next up;I have to fabricate exhaust manifolds and cross-over pipes to tie in with the exhaust system.

                        Here is one of the completed exhaust manifolds.I made it out of an old sprue and used sheet plastic to enlarge the exhaust flanges.(They may have to be enlarged).I painted then rust colored which is realistic for an un-restored example .I may paint them steel to represent a restored,hot tanked exhaust manifold.

                        It's coming along very nicely, I really like the burgundy paint.  Cars (and people) had more style in the 40's, not to mention the awesome music, are you headed in a stock direction?

                        This is a pretty bad kit, but it can be built into a very nice model with quite a bit of love.  I've got one half built that I'm planning to kitbash with a Monogram '41 (since the '41 will be a street rod, anyway).

                         The Monogram '41 kit is an absolute jewel!

                        i think they look great in rust, i'd leave them like that. the model overall is coming out good, keep us updated.

                        Here is the completed crossover pipe installed.Next I have to use the Testor's Burnt metal to match the exhaust manifolds.

                        Why didn't you use the v-12 from the 41 lincoln?

                        Because the donor kit did not include the engine!I can't complain because the guy sent me a nearly complete kit for nothing!I haven't been working on this lately!I think i'll shelve it until the fall or winter!

                        Yes indeed! But work is getting crazy and my '77 Monte Carlo still needs to be finished!After the holidays I should be able to get going again on the Lincoln!
