Did you guys have any problems building these beauties?I couldn't get the interior to properly fit the body.The dash kept hitting the windshield.I had to rip everything apart and re-install the frame and interior separately.I did a bit of damage to the finish in the process.That paint is drying as I speak.I should have some pics of the finished product up later today.I almost tore my hair out with this one!

WINGFORM 84 --- You don,t have to shop on-line . You can get the items you need from MODEL EXPO or SQUADRON . Buy a scale auto magazine ,read the articles and the companies will be listed in the advertiser section . Foil chrome can be made cheaply with microscale foilchrome adhesive and plenty of ALCOAS cheaper competitors . The car still looks good though . TANKERBUILDER

Thanks, Jim! Yes, the 50's cars had style, didn't they! I really like this particular style, not too much chrome and very heavy on the fins. I think it's smoother than the '57 Chevy.

A neighbor in my apartment house sometimes drives a great big 1967 Chrysler. It's kind of an off-white color.

Yeah sadly the only LHS around here that still carries anything model kit related has a tiny selection and very unfriendly people.. unless you're into RC planes and such. I have bought a few kits there but I think they're trying to get rid of them all. They've had them 30% off for a long time, ever since I found it around a year ago, and they never get any new ones in, yet they always have new stock of trains/rc planes/rc car bits.

Thank you, gents! Wingform, you're right about the dearth of hobby shops, they're going the way of the dinosaurs I'm afraid. Everyone is crying about the economy, but when I asked one of the local hobby shops to order some stuff for me a couple weeks ago, they said sure and then didn't order it. And they wonder why folks buy online???? I think you'll be pleased with the BMF, you can add interior details with it as well as, the chrome for the outside. I like your 300, nice clean stocker.

I did this kit too, only I went with the stock version. I keep telling myself I'm gonna do a custom one day, but then I never do..

Too bad mine doesn't look nearly as good as yours... maybe I need to try BMF (once again I'l have to buy it online.. how come none of my LHS carry all these great things everyone on here seems to use? I even had to order a pin vise and ignition wire online..)

I do kinda wonder about those wheels though, they look like ones that came extra in a 2 in 1 kit or somthing because I can't say I've ever seen aftermarket ones quite that nice. Very fitting for the car.

1957 CHRYSLER 300

Here's one I finished awhile ago, the 1957 Chrysler 300, with some 21st Century updates.

The paint is Testors Metallic Red from the little square bottle, thinned with lacquer thinner and shot thru the airbrush (really) and the interior is Panzer Interior Buff (yes, really). I scratch built the air cleaner from a leftover aircraft canopy, the wheels are aftermarket, don't remember whose. Lots of BMF, lots of fun!
