A most righteous ride, I've built several of that kit, very nice to work with and there's a nice PE set from Model Car Garage that really sets it off. Building the drag version?

here's what I see when I look at the box;

*The body is a basic max wedge body, but there were about a half dozen or so built with hemis on this body (very, very rare)

*has the correct hood and hood scoop for the Stage III engine.

*dash board is too fancey for a basic body (too much chrome)

*rear leaf springs are the wrong ones, but doubt any judge would ever know what the difference is. The correct ones are what was called factory super stock springs in 1964. You'll also need to think about adding the rear pinon snubber to the top of the center section

*I'm not sure just what seat they used, but all the ones in the show room used the one in the kit. There were also several built that used a modified A100 bucket seat on both side and no rear seat. (if you go this route you must use the seat out of the Ramcharger's kit of Candymatic, and even then they need to be reworked.

*the photo of the engine on the box is correct

just a further note to further confuse the masses here. The Candymatic kit is not right. Has the wrong wheel locations. The motor in centered too much as it's shifted to the left with the shock tower slightly notched. Also the max wedge and hemi engines should be angled left to right close to three inches (if you want to be picky). Also the max wedge engine that was used in Color Me Gone had the factory designed external feed oil pump housing, but with a single inlet (if I remember right). Also the oil pan is completely wrong. He used either an eight or ten quart custom built oil pan. I think the Ramcharger used a ten quart Milodon pan with the Milodon oil pump and two external hoses feeding it. It's only been 45 years since I saw those two cars!

I'm not a big fan of Linburgh kits but I like my Mopars so I made the exception and bought it. Whether the model is accurate or not I really don't care I just like the body.

well I guess it could have been done, but never anything resembeling this. Heres why:

there are two types of "B" blocks made (or were made). One is just called a B block and the other is known as the RB block. The R standing for raised block (seems like it has a 3/4" taller block to make the longer strked crank work better. At one time they did build a 350", 361", 383", and a 413" engines. The 350 is kinda rare, and think it was only built in 1959 (maybe 1958 as well). Never seen one! There was a tall deck 383 built in 1958-59, and it's really nothing more than a later 426 wedge block with a 383 crank in it (well not quite but almost). The 361 has the smaller bore of the 413" engine, but a later 383 crank will not fit (gotta use the crank from the 58/59 tall deck 383). I know this is kinda confusing but it will get worse later. That cross ram you see in the color me gone kit was made for just three sets of heads, and will not mate up to the normal heads you'd see on a street engine. But Eldebrock at onetime did make an intake that looked a lot like the factory cross ram intake. So I guess you could make a 361 out of a 413 block (remember they only did a 413 max wedge in 1962).

     Chrysler did make a 361 and a 383 low deck motor with two different cross ram setups, but they look nothing like what's in the picture. These were the ones with the carbs setting over the exhaust manifolds (1960 D500 and D501 Dodge comes to mind along with the 1961 cars too.). They also did the same setup with the 413 engine in the 300F & 300G Chryslers (maybe the E and H as well I can't remember)

     In 1962 there was also an inline two four barrel setup on the 383 engine that was rated at 343hp. These were installed in the Plymouths and Dodge Darts (were considered to be very fast in their day and were faster than the later GTO's). I've seen a few of these here and there. There was also a 380hp 413 built that is similar, but on the RB block. Think that was in 1963 only, and have never seen one personally. If you go the long ram route the air cleaners are similar to what's on a max wedge. If you go the inline route the air cleaners are the cadium plated oval shaped ones. The only cars that had air cleaners in 1962 thru 1964 are the low compression max wedge cars with steel front ends (note here: air cleaners may have been supplied but left in the trunk on delivery).

You have to be careful with Lindberg, they did some very nice car kits in the 90s, but they also have a bunch of kits they got from other kit makers that were mostly tooled in the 60s, some of which were not very good kits in the 60s.

I'm building currently building their '53 Ford and so far it is as good as anything I've built from Revell or AMT.
