TD4438 Thanks. It's nice to see this one pop up yet again.I didn't realize it was mine til I clicked on it.The primer, white and red paint I used are all Tamiya rattle cans.I had no problem getting a decent finish with them.

Back from the dead....just like the ghosts in Ghostbusters !
Very Nice build.
Just purchased the kit at Hobby Lobby and movie one and two on DVD for $3 ......due to Blockbuster closing stores. .......first movie was on local free tv for so many years I never before felt a need to buy them
Trying to obtain a good overall gloss white finish is going to be a new experience for me.
If I do any cars,I use the Tamiya white primer.
TD,
Have you ever tried the Tamiya White Surface Primer? It is GREAT stuff, and covers well. I have used it on red plastic with really nice results. Others have suggested thin coats of BIN primer/sealer. While I have never used it, I have heard of others getting good results. As it is made for home improvement type painting, I imagine that you would have to thin it out quite a bit... I'll stick with my Tamiya White...

Actually, all the primer and paint for the body was Tamiya products. My only gripe is that it took about three hundred thin coats of white to cover up the very light grey primer.I was shooting it for almost a week. That's the most patience I've ever shown with any model.I'm happy with the results however.
Thanks for the props.
I too am seeing this build for the first time. Great job capturing the character of the original vehicle! I have several of the body/chassis to convert into ambulances of the era. Now if I could only find the time... I don't know what paint/primer you are using, but I can highly recommend Tamiya. Their tape(as previosly mentioned) is well worth the extra pennies that it costs. Their White Surface primer works great over any color, and their Gloss White goes on smoothly. Even if you are not usually a car guy, or work on smooth finishes, they are pretty foolproof. Even if you are not into the polishing kit or wet sanding between coats thing, they work great! Look forward to seeing more of your fine work.
The back has basic detail only.Unless you open up a door,it would be useless to add anything. The tinted windows are almost completely black. There is definately plenty of room however.

If you aren't having fun, you're doing it wrong! Build to please yourself and they will flame you every time!
The unsigned version usually goes for a good buck.It is definately a sweet ride.
Cool Pic!
Did you see the 1:21 diecast signed by Uncle Ernie on Ebay?

This is my first car in over twenty years and did I ever enjoy it.Except for that white paint.I absolutely loath working with white.Easy to screw up and difficult to correct.
There are some fit issues with the rear bumper/tail lights, but other than that it was a decent kit.
I built Ecto-1 for the Totally Awesome '80's Group Build.
