Actually, some of the California Wheels kits do have stock options.  I have the '65 Chevelle and it has the parts to build a stock Z16 SS car which is the route I'm taking with it.

Some kits have the stock parts and some don't.  You just gotta look when you buy the kit and see what the box art has on the sides...

You may not need to change the suspension much for it to sit right, I'm not sure how it's set up under there on that kit.  That's why I never buy the California Wheels ones, I don't think any of them have "stock" parts as far as wheels and stuff, and like you I build them with either original wheels or some that look right.  Classic/Muscle sitting on 20+ inch rims just looks bad to me.  And I don't really need anything in exchange for the wheels, I just had them left over.  They look really close to the wheels on this real delray http://www.tjsamericanhotrods.com/images/1956ChevroletDelRay2Door/FrontRight.jpg I don't think they're actually stock (cuz the nomad was slightly modified, with a big engine/blower) but they look good I think.  I tried to take a pic but chrome + flash + trying to get close to see the details = white blob inside a tire for the pic.  But yeah if you want them just PM me your address and I'll get them sent out tomorrow.

Yeah, it is. Usually I only buy the kits where you have a stock version as well; that's what I thought this was! I have no clue how to redesign the chassis for the stock version. How much would you like for the wheels and tires though?

Is it the California Wheels model?

And I dunno how they connect to the car, but I have a set of wheels/tires I could give you off a 57 Nomad kit, it was some old kit I got in a parts lot, and only about half the kit  but all four tires, and wheel front/backs were there.  they have big holes for the little peg inserts.  They look pretty close to stock I'd think.

I've got a 56 Chevy Del Ray kit from Revell, but it is one of those "custom" kits. It is not my cup of tea. I'm currently building a series of Bel Air kits in different years, but I'm trying to keep them close to stock and 20" wheels are NOT part of the program. Is there any way I can convert this to a stock/ factory car?
