A diesel engine is fired by compression so there is no distributer or plugs/wires.Just plumb the injector pump and air lines for the brakes and coolant hoses,Hope this helps if you need more info let me know(certified diesel mech. here)

Tamiya XF-71 is an almost exact match to Detroit Diesel Alpine Green provided by Duplicolor.  I've used the Tamiya on my models and I can't tell a difference in color between the two brands.

If you really want to add some engine detail you might be able to add fuel lines, and possibly airlines depending on the kit they may or may not be molded in. The engine in that kit is a Detroit Diesel 8V71, I'm sure a search on ebay will find a few trucks for sale with that engine and may include some photos.

I have a few pics of motors including a DD 8V71 here

You can get actual Detroit Diesel Alpine Green from Duplicolor, I've also found WW2 British Interior Green is a close match. Detroit Diesels are notoriously greasy, oily and in general filthy so if you get the color close you can weather it like crazy to cover up any slight variations in color. Smile [:)]

well, yes, I guess that would certainly explain things....this is my first Semi, and I've never owned or even driven a diesel.

There is no distirbutor because a diesel engine does not use one.   No spark plug wires because a diesel engine does not use spark plugs.  Hope this explains why they are not there.

AMT Chevy Titan semi - distributor/wires ?

The kit does not seem to have  a distributor for the engine....everything else; fuel pump, fuel filter, oil filter, starter coil, even a supercharger....but no distributor.

I always like to add at lease spark plug wires to an engine.  But I have no schematics.  I can find some photos on the web, but nothing detailed enough.

Any idea how I can do this?

Thanks.
