Airport Fire Truck

This is a project that I began many years ago. It is modeled after the CAV-500 medium duty airport crash truck built by Crash Rescue Services. It is built on an International chassis. Originally, the cab was one of the Pinecrest Scale Models resin cabs. After one too many gravity tests, it was replaced by a Tim Sherman cab.
A friend and master modeler now has the original cab, and will eventually resurect it with his "magic".    Back to the project, the chassis is from the Ford Louisville kit. It's wheelbase was shortened, and as I have now learned, the chassis should have been completed before the body fabrication was done. Not so much in this case, and this has proven to be problematic in it's progress. The body was scratchbuilt, as were the front bumper extension, turret, hose reels, rear roll-up door, and unusual side compartment moldings. Major remaining tasks include foam turret connections, cab interior and glass fabrication, Vector lightbar, crosslay and diamondplate cover, hose reel nozzles and rollers, pump panel(not attached when photo was taken) and alignment/securing of the cab/body to the chassis. Again, major lessons were learned. I will probably also build an engine to go under the hood(I hate engines) as since I raised the ride height to represent a 4x4, you can see right through the front wheelwells. Note - it appears that on this forum, you have to "click" on the picture to see the whole truck.
