As you well know I have dragged REVELL over the coals, and how! for ships or lack thereof. As far as cars, well, I have to defend the company! The ferraris I have built have ALL been the cats meow!! The domestic cars are darned good to. As a matter of fact, REVELL might be able to teach RC2 something about todays car builder. I bought RC2,s AMT buick kit. Well,it,s the same kit I built, whoops I ain,t saying my age, LoL!! about twenty five or thirty years ago. True, they put ALL the custom parts back in there ,but made no effort to clean anything up. I will stick with REVELL for cars as long as they keep up the quality.I just wish they would get off this scissor door and donk type wheel kick. Put them in the kit ,but ,give us some stock parts too!Other than that, as I said good or bad, I will defend REVELL,s cars.

FYI The Scaglietti is a reboxed RoG kit.  Sometime last year I believe it was, the Audi kit was in Scale Auto, and they said it had some issues but was an accurate kit.  I've not bought or built it, but Model Factory Hiro I think it is makes a detail kit that is supposed to help alot.

Think of it this way though, it could be worse, it could be the average AMT kit.  LOL

I was pretty upset at the moment, as I had run across another problem with the kit just prior to posting.

That's fine, if you need to vent some, we understand. But be warned, these things are what start wars between members and the banhammer can strike... Welcome to the forums!

I love LeMans racing, so I purchased a Revell Audi R10 TDI - what a piece of junk.
Terrible fit, instruction drawings wrong, broken pieces on the sprues. It's just not worth it.

First off Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the forums, lambing!! Secondly, if the sprues contained broken pieces right out of the box, contact Revell about the situation. I found them to be quite helpful when I bought a badly molded kit.

Also, as an alternative, I would contact the dealer first, as with Squadron, they sent me the parts I had issues with.

If it is a local small retailer, or an outfit like Hobby Lobby, then they need to know, so they will be aware of any quality issues the stuff they are selling has. In this case I would seek an exchange for something of equal value rather then a refund, which I have done both at Hobby Lobby and my local hobby store.

If it is a big outfit like Wal-Mart, I would go and get my money back, 'cause they don't care anyway.

I agree with Boba, The Scaglietti is a perfect jewel. The Audi is a Revell of Germany kit and while it is less than perfect, it needs some TLC and it can be a nice looking kit. If I had major problems with broken parts, i would have contacted the shop where you bought it or RoG themselves, they are pretty slow but will respond.

Hmmm... I built their Ferrari 612 Scgalatti (however it's spelt) and the thing's a jem. Perfect fit, the clear parts are amazing, almost no mold-release residue, and the interior was the best I've seen. And really dude, for your first post on a forum, does it have to be a rant about a manufacturer? Seriously, if you wanna make friends, keep it cool. And what does this really tell us about Revell? That you like flaming them because of 1 bad kit? Sorry, but that's a bit extreme.
