It's one of the first Sigma's that Martin imported around twenty years ago. A luthier friend of mine bought it and did some "adjusting" on it (read as Holman Moody did some tuning up on those Fords that Lorenzen drove LOL) before I got it. He put a Lester Flatt pickguard on it and I've had since around '92 or so. It's a hoss and I've been asked so many times how old is that Martin D-28 and I smile and show'em the head stock marking. And count my money for the difference between the two.

Headstock looks more like a Martin, than a Guild.

So long folks!

Are you playing a Guild or a Martin?

There was a special race and ceremony honoring the old drivers and owners a couple of Saturdays ago at the track I do some announcing at. They did a "walk of fame" with right (throttle) footprints in the concrete and all. But the highlite for me was getting to load up the band I play with and entertain all my old racing friends before the main ceremonies.

Not sure just what we're doing right here but I know I got to do a couple of my originals about a certain "corn" delivery business conducted on those two lane roads up in the mountains in some pretty souped up cars. That's me in the "old school" racing uniform white pants and red shirt. We had a ball.
