OK, car guys, no outrageous laughter! This is the 1/48 1942 Ford that Tamiya released recently, with OD paint and military markings. I could not see building it that way, as long as I've been looking for 1/48 cars with such meager results. I needed something to put next to my airplanes so I proceeded to attempt this. I'm not too happy with the chrome trim, the bumpers I like OK, but I'm thinking painting the trim strips in 1/48 scale is something I need to perfect. Not to mention the way it rubs off and gets on the black, which is Model Master Lacquer. I don't remember when I may have built a car before, this is a pretty simple one but it looks good next to a North American type Mustang.
Thing only thing not out of the box are the license plates, I did them on my ALPS printer, they are 1942 California plates with the number that was on my 1962 Chevy Super Sport.
Perhaps bare metal foil would be better for the trim.
