1/35 Volkswagen Beetle Type 83

Hello everyone. After two years away from the forum, the creative energy to build some new kits is back. I spent a couple of years obsessed with realistic fly tying.

Are there any cool group builds going on? I'd like to get something going that works with the auto forum group.

Meanwhile, I finally got around to creating a Flickr account and organizing my photos. Please feel free to check out my past builds and let me know what you think.

So, here's what's on the bench now:

The only thing I have in stock that needs to be built is this old Volkswagen WWII kit.

I've started the paint job, which will be bright red with black accents, simply because I wanted to do something custom and fun.

I've removed the parts from the sprues and have painted them on one side. Tomorrow I will flip them over and paint the other side. More to come.

Welcome back, Bship, I've never seen this subject. I am looking forward to seeing more of your progress.

That is one whacky looking bug. I am looking forward to watching this one come together.

Here are some new pictures of my progress. The model is fully assembled, but I left the major sections disconnected, so I could have some display options. What's left to do is to add some detail and fine-line work here and there. Your feedback is welcome.
