SVT Cobra "Terminator"?
Posted by kylewoody on Sunday, November 22, 2009 8:07 PM

Hey guys,

Was wondering if there was a kit anywhere of the 03'-04' Mustang Cobra, aka Terminator?  I would love to build one, despite me being a GM guy (particularly Camaros.. Evil [}:)]

 Thanks!

Dang, that sucks.  I thought for sure someone would have kitted the thing.  I think Ford sells about 3 Mustangs for every Camaro that Chevy sells.  I might have to do a conversion on the N/A version then... hehe.  What would be a close motor to use for the blown 4.6?  Maybe Revell's F150 Lightning?  I know that's the 5.4 though...

Hey Brizio, I know what you mean.  I am modelling all generations of the F Bodies right now.  I already have done a 1st, 3rd, and 4th gen. Got AMT's 1970 next for the 2nd gen, and also picked up the SnapTite concept too. Big Smile [:D]  Here's a few pics:

But, I'm also a fan of any fast car, particularly muscle cars.  I have driven and raced a Terminator with my LS1 - and they aren't to be messed with!  Hate to see how my old LT1 would have fared... Blush [:I]

Nice Camaros!

I've done two for now, one it is in 1/8 Monogram Pace Car version, a Iroc-Z from the IROC series and a 79 Z-28 that I own... But I still have other two kit to build.

Do you know where I can find some nice rims for a 85 IROC-Z in 1/24? This because I would like to start a Revell kit I have, but the rims on it are smaller...

Thanks!  There was a 1/8 scale kit?  SWEET!  Got any pics of either?

I'm on my third full scale Camaro so far.  First car and first Camaro was an 87' SC, then I had a 95' Z28, and now a 00' Z28.  I love em all!

I'd assume it's the same kit I just built then - the third gen is Revell's 84' Z28.  I did some scratchbuilding and converting though, to make it an 86' model.  I don't know of any period correct IROC rims though.  I know AMT had a 91' or 92' model with bevelled 5 spokes, but they are not the same as the IROC ones.

It would seem to me that the best bet is to use the factory ones (like on mine above).  I would probably putty over them, sand flush, and carve the lines in each spoke with a straight edge.  Otherwise, the rims look surprisingly similar to me.

Though, I'm somewhat new to scale autos - for all I know, there are some resins out there!

Yep 1/8, a big nice one. They made a 1982 and a 1986 IROC-Z.

Those one are pics from the 82 Pace Car in 1/8 by Monogram... A lot of scratch build above all on the engine compartment...

Dude. that is freeking SCHWEEEEET!

Where can I get one? Tongue [:P]

I was eyeballing Lindberg's 1/20 LT1, but this thing takes the cake.  I want, I want!

Thank you!

I found it in a model swap. You can build it stock, or like a pace car. Try also to look on ebay, someime the price is not to bad. About Camaro Pace Car, there is also a kit in 1/25

The difficult part, it was to find pics about the cross fire engine...

This is another one I build for my brother, it looks the one raced the IROC Series. So it has his nick name and number on the car. It was very fun to build it. :)
