Not cheating, just consider it "indepth research" LOL. I never got to meet Wendell before he passed, but later got to meet his daughter and widow. They were really nice people that I am proud to call friends. I did get to make sure, when I was doing R&D for Racing Collectibles Club of America, that his red '63 got included with the inaugural issue of their cars and his widow got the royalties. They started out as a really great company.

I sorta cheated and looked up Mr. Scotts Bio. Quite impressive and another one of those tid bits of history I would not have known.

One of my favorite lines from "Greased Lightning" uttered when Wendell Scott (played byt Richard Pryor) asked his "main man" where the tires for the new race car came from. Nowadays not many "midnite auto supply" parts can be used on a race car and not many have the panache and style of the factory based stock cars like this one from the Ol' Redneck Race Car shop.
