2005 Ford GT question
Posted by Gordon D. King on Monday, November 30, 2009 4:02 PM
I just opened the AMT/Ertl Johnny Lightning 2005 Ford GT kit. The first thing I noticed is that the tires for the front wheels are much narrower than the ones for the rear wheels. Is this correct or did my kit get incorrectly packed. If anyone has made this kit or any kit of the Ford GT I would appreciate their help.

In real life, the rear tires/wheels would be wider than the fronts-more weight on the rear, along with all the power deliverly.

That's not a bad kit.  Went together fairly easily, remember there was something fiddly but can't remember what it was now.  May have had something to do with the suspension though.  Mine came with the nicest prepainted headlight buckets I've ever seen.  Built it straight out of the box, didn't have to worry about painting as it came prepainted with a pretty nice paint job.  Built it while watching Le Mans.

Got a Ford dealer near you?  They might still have one sitting on the showroom floor.  A lot of those cars did not sell.  The local Ford dealer near me still has the black one Ford forced on him.
