Help with a Vette, por favor
Posted by plheure on Monday, December 29, 2003 11:17 AM
I just gave a Monogram '78 Vette to a friend at work, and he'd like me to build it for him. Since I build almost exclusively aircraft, I'd like a little advice as to how to finish it as showroom stock. What color is the chassis? What paint do you recommend to finish it in Corvette Red? Do you car guys recommend the Novus system of polishes? What should I do to detail the engine and the compartment?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, guys!

All the best in modeling,

Let me see if i can help. The chassie is flat black with the front and rear end gloss black. Do some google searches on it. Just make sure to paint the flags make it accurate and stcok as possible you could put in brake lines radiator hoses. See if there is any PE kits for it that you can get. Good luckBig Smile [:D]

One good thing about cars is that there are ample supplies of reference pics on the net. I have not used the Novus system myself but the results I have seen that have been produced by using I would say use it for sure. Things to add for the engine in addition to model kid would be plug wires, battery cables and so forth. Interior stuff you can do would be carpet flocking, and a wash to highlight alot of the details like the glove box.
