If anyone is wanting to detail a 956/962 then I have recently got 2 excellent sets of reference material, you may wish to do the same.
The first is the 956 Porsche Up Close & Mechanical Photo CD (www.scalemotorsport.com) which has a comprehensive set of 150 photos of all parts of the 956, particularly the engine and rear suspension.
The second is the small detailing profile "Porsche 956 Engines" published by Speed Details ( http://members.shaw.ca/millersbrm/speeddetails.html ). This 20 page booklet describes the cooling systems, lubrication systems, turbocharging, fuel systems, ignition and throttle linkage along with 10 pages of very detailed diagrams for each (including the mechanical and electronic fuel injection) and 5 clear colour photos.
With or without Scalemotorsport's 956/962 superdetail set (still available?) the above will ensure you have most of what you need to produce a great model of this fabulous sports prototype.
Now to finish my 1984 Le Mans Kenwood 956.
