Hey, man.
I've got a couple of sets of 1/24 decals for the Nissan sponsored R-32 GTR that raced in the Toohey's 1000 at Bathurst. They are the original Roodecal set, kindly given to be by the marvelous gentleman who was the brains and brawn behind the company (alas, I think he only does the odd Australian civilian airline livery now).
The decals are for the red/white/blue twin cam/twin turbo AWD GTR that Jim Richards and Mark Skaife raced for so many years (snd kicked the stuffing out of all comers with it) before they went to Winfield sponsorship with Gibson Motorsport.
The decals don't have Richard's or Skaife's names, though.
If you want a set, email me and we can make arrangements to get you a set.
I don't want payment, just a couple of bucks to cover postage. You can have one, and I'll keep the other for the model I've got in storage.
Let me know.
Cheers

Sorry the sheet is used. It comprised the red stripe and all sponsors decals so you have to do the 3 colours yourself.

Locate the Australian motorr race annuals for that year or the 1991 and 1992 Toohey's 1000 programs. They have some good photos in them.

The minor changes to the Tamiya kit include:
1) front grill mounted tow point (I used the kit's rear one)
2) rear tow point relocated to the left bumper (there is already a slot in the kit's bumper) from the number plate recess
3) covers over the headlights
4) single windscreen wiper centrally located
5) different mirros (on storks)
6) downward pointing exhaust ends
7) rear number plate recess is closed over
8) right rear filler flap shouldbe filled in
9) "Skyline" "Nissan" "GTS" moulded into the rear panels on the kit to be removed
10) air hose connection located on top of the front bumper just to the inside of the left headlight
11) the small nuts should be removed from the outside edge of the wheel rims (perhaps this depends upon the kiy you have, mine was the Calsonic)
12) additional diagonal brace on the roll cage
If you have photos/pictures of the interior then I'm sure you could go to town. I unfortunately had none.

I now find my model isn't quite complete (mirrors and headlight covers) but what is your email and I can send you some photos of my model, it might be a catalyst to complete the 2 remaining items after all these years!! My scanner is incompatible with our new laptop so I won't be able to scan any of the magazine pictures I used.

thanks for the info nicholma,

you mentioned that you had one of the sheets of this car? I'm looking to build a couple of these cars and was wandering if you had used the sheet yet? I was hoping that you hadn't yet and may be able to scane it for me and email it to me? Also you mentioned that some mods were ned to the tamiya kit? would you be able to enlighten me on the changes that need to be made to make a accurte replica.

Anymore help would be great nicholma and thanks for your help so far.

Good news and bad I'm afraid. The 1991 livery was produced by Roodecals I think but hasn't been available for many years. I got my set from Model Cars Australia in Sydney about 1993. I think that the Winfield and also the GIO Insurance decals were available but I wouldn't bet on it. A number of subtle modifications need to be done to the base Tamiya kit to replicate the Richards/Skaife car but they are all quite easy.

Good hunting.
