A 1960's F1 model question.
Posted by wing_nut on Monday, April 26, 2010 2:33 PM

A wingnutty treadhead needs help from his motorhead brothers.   I watched"Grand Prix" on TV the othe rnight.  Had not seen that in more years than I care to count.  I was into cars as a kid and thsi was a fav movie of mine.

The questions is... Are there any good models of F1 cars from around that time, the mid 60's?

Tamiya makes a couple in 1/20 scale-the Honda (which (or very similar to) James Garner drove in the film) and a Lotus.

This is a good site with loads of F1 kits, only a few 60's models though. Still you can get an idea of whats available.

Model Factory Hiro do lots of 60's stuff, but at $200+ for a kit, they're out of most peoples budgets.
