Engine reference pics
Posted by lizardqing on Tuesday, January 6, 2004 3:37 PM
Another thing I could use some help on is finding some pics of the flathead that the 40 Ford had in it. i am wanting to wire it up but don't know how to go about it exactly. I'm having no luck in finding any pics of anything but heavily modified ones. Thanks.

Have you tried going to the library and looking through the older Chilton or Haynes manuals?
You may even check their website. You'll have to do a search, as I'm not sure what it is.

Go here http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/flathead_home.htm
Then go to the parts drawings/schematics, then to wiring diagrams

You just forgot to put in the / in front of the second img. Other than that it looked right.

Thanks alot Silverback. That drawing answered a couple of questions. Anybody have any ideas on how to do the conduit type set up that the plug wires run in along the top of the valve covers? Now that I am back in somewhat shape to build I will be concentrating on getting this one done to give to my dad by the end of the month. Here's a pic of the engine so far. Sill need to remove the chrome from the carb and intake so they look well used. This is my first try at making an engine look well worked so let me know what you think. Pics a bit fuzzy though.
