its actually registered new as a 2010 Folden.  Also we dont have the same emision laws as other countries. best we have is "vehicle must not visibly smoke for more than 10 seconds under power"

 TD4438:

Two thumbs up!I definately like it.It's far more appealing and creative than most cars these days.

cars these days?..because they are both 40 yo designs? a 69 stang and 71 kingswood!

Definitely 40 year old designs, alright !

I can actually see the engine !

Any polution devices in that car or could they get away without them due to car age?

If anyone wants to make one as a model, you could start with the Partsbox.com.au HQ monaro kit.

 Aaron Skinner:

I'm not sure how I feel about this, but it'd make a cool conversion. I was always more of a Ford guy when I lived in Australia, but since moving to the States, I've developed a real soft spot for Holdens.

Cheers, Aaron

Will this be your next build?

I'll add it to list. Too many models, too little time!

www.therock.net.nz to see WIP shots lol. i followed this on the radio. they got death threats while building it (im sure it was just robert and johno being douches) Great to see it coming together though. Was won by a listener on the radio, cost around $20,000 to build all up (i think, correct me if im wrong)

I for one will give the Ford part a miss (worked in  a franchise for 5y or so, so know what FoMoCo are all about).

Holden is another matter altogether, how would this do to take Mad Max into the current centrury;

HEYYYY Aaron!!!! LOL I am a die-hard GM fan but I really think it looks COOL!!!! Then the thoughts of a wagon or a ute thrown in!!! The mind boggles!! I think the wagon would look great!! mean looking front end with a big beefy body to back it up. Panel van wouldn't be too bad either! I love it here, they still hold V-8s in high regard!!

 Aaron Skinner:
No kidding. I'm not sure who's going to be more ticked off – Ford or Holden guys. Folks here think it's ruining a good Mustang. Frankly, I think it's messing up a Kingswood. My boss suggested they should have used a wagon instead of the sedan.

Cheers, Aaron

A wagon? - no way. A HQ panel van would be much more fun.... LOL

Or a ute! Do they make a roo bar for a Mustang?

Nice job of blending body parts and the Liostang is amusing.

Somehow, the downward slope of the car trunk reminds me of the Chevrolet Cavalier ( J platform ).

A Holden 50-2106 utility would be a nice candidate for customizing.
