Need some help with construction.

For yellow paint,I always use a white basecoat first.

I had a problem with windows on a car I did a few months ago.Each kit is different,but on this one I was able to hot glue the one peice windows to the underside of the trunk and cowl panel.Worked great for me.

they look better than some of my car builds. about 95% are "junkyard builds" (I love rusty old cars) so when I do a "new" car, I can't get the paint to work out, especially with 2-tone or multi-color schemes. I'll try to post a photo so you can see what I mean.

I've never seen a pink Shelby before, it looks like it came from the 50's, when pink cars were normal. It acually looks great. I don't see a whole lot wrong with it.

I say, go ahead and finish it, sand down any rough areas or areas that don't look too good to you, and mask off everything but the areas sanded, and re-paint it with the can of pink. That looks exelent.

For the blue one (I assume, eather a Stingray or a Corvette) that will be tough. I have never had experiance with a wrap-around windshield, or anything like that car body, so all I can say is, try to remove the body, sand the interior down some, and dry-fit it untill it sits right. Then, remove the windshield, and try to sand the fogged area a little bit, and dip it in Future floor polish.

I can't help with the windshield problem, because (as said before) almost all of my cars are junkers of some type, and eather don't have windows or windshields, or have shattered windshields and lots of cracks.

The chassis isn't glued into the car, the problem was that the curve of the doors was so tight that it took ALOT to get the chassis in the shell without breaking something..

I think I will, im not happy with either but I can show what I did right, and what I did wrong, get some suggestions.

I didn't finish the pink car the Shelby, you can see why on the right side of it how badly the paint ended up.

The blue one is a sad story because besides the fitting and the windshield it looks nice

You go to Michaels too? Well, I don't blame you. Most of the time, they have reasonable prices on kits.

My local hobby shop beats Michaels prices by a few dollars, but I try to go there whenever I have a cupon. It really helps, considering that my budget is next-to-nothing, compared to others. Please post photos when your done with the cars. I'm interested to see what you built.

elmers huh... Im going to have to try that.  These cars are only about 10$ at michaels and we get like 15% off coupons or something, so im gona get another sometime soon and try it again.  I can see the construction getting easier with each go, but I still need alot of practice

The key to painting a car yellow(or anty lighy color) is to use neutral gray primer and several light coats rather than a few heavy ones.AS for the windshield and back glass,turn the body upside down and lay a bead of Elmer's white glue and carefully place the windshield into position.Works great and holds well!

the alignment being off isnt possible, everything else is fitting together perfectly and when I try and move it to get it to fit into place it wont budge, so everything else is sitting firm where it should be.

As with any clear part, dip in Future first. Remove the Future from the areas where the two surfaces are going to be cemented together.

Test fit , adjust. Test fit adjust. Test fit adjust. Same holds true with all models.

Cars are a challenge but that's what makes them fun. If the floor is showing under the body, something isn't aligned properly. Not all kits including car models are engineer well.
