"The Wraith" 77 Chevy Corvette Custom
Posted by lsufan70072 on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 10:23 AM

I'd been on a hiatus from the forum now im back i'd wanted to show everybody what i'd been up to heres my latest project . Im replicating Packard Walsh's Custom Corvette from the movie "The Wraith". I'd started out with a Revell 69 Corvette Coupe. A friend of mines built the body for me by using a Revell 68 Corvette Roadster body and grafting a Revell 82 Corvette front bumper, roof & the whole rear section. The taillight section is completely scratchbuilt and also the fender flares are scratchbuilt as well. The wheels came from a Revell 56 Ford Pickup "Hot Rod Series" which are a set of BBS wheels to replicate the ones from the movie and painted the centers with Testors Bright Red and drybrushed the spokes with Testors Chrome Silver.

Looks like an old turbo body panel kit from Eckler's Corvette.  Go here http://www.ecklers.com/ and take a look.  Eckler might still make the kit.  He continues to sell the square headlight conversion.

Rear window louvers look like the old Crager aftermarket item which was available back in the day.

I've never seen a Corvette like this one before. I have to follow this one closely...

The pix show an aftermarket body panel conversion kit.  The Corvette always had a small legion of aftermarket fiberglass parts providers.  Still does.
