The Scale Firehouse is a great site for emergency vehicle modelers of all levels. There is a great fellowship of members who share their knowledge, talent, techniques, and resources. It is great to see what new products are availabe, or how to make something unique. Especially as there are a limited number of emergency vehicle subjects available from the major manufacturers. As most fire apparatus is a series of basic shapes, really the possibilites are endless. By breaking down even the most complex collections of equipment into their basic shapes, anything is possible. There is a great wealth of information at the Scale Firehouse. If you haven't visited it before, or recently, check it out! Happy building.

I don't know, but I think they may start cranking them out a little more, since the FSM poll on most wanted kits. #1 in the auto category was emergency vehicles.
Good news, however, is that it's easy to scratch-build, and add aftermarket detail, to a stock model, like the Monogram re-release Ford F-250, to get different emergency vehicles. If you want, you can do your own building up of stock models while you are waiting for the new release (That's what I'm doin)

wonderful work!!! I too am very saddened by the manufacturer's lack of emergency vehicles in their lines. All I ever see is the old American LaFrance trucks by AMT, the Lindberg Crown Vic, and a rare Johann Ambulance! You'd think they'd have a clue!

Very nice. Looks great. Wish there were more Fire and EMS vehicles. I'l love to do my department vehicles including my ambulance.

Hi Gang,
Recently finished my hometown's 1996 Ford Crown Vic Fire Chief's vehicle. The model is based on the Lindberg kit, and features two-tone paint inside and out, custom decals and license plates, and lots of detailing. I am pretty happy with how it turned out. I am currently working on several of the department's other apparatus, both past and present . Let me know what you think. Thanks for looking.
