Rubber Tires and Decals

I've never put a decal on a tire but a flat coat under a decal = silvering.  Don't see what it's being done on would make a difference.   Maybe try setting the decal with Future by itself.  I do that all the time.  The nice thing is, after is has dried real well, the excess Future can be wiped away with a cotton swap dampened with alcohol.

I've had very poor luck with water slide decals on tires, but some kits have dry transfer lettering, and while harder to apply, I've had good luck with their appearance. I much prefer them to water slide.

I've had real good results putting white letter decals on tire sidewalls.  I start by applying a couple of good coats of Future and letting it dry thoroughly, then apply the closely trimmed decals using Solva-set to help settle them into tire.  Once the decals have dried thoroughly I apply another coat of Future to seal them up.  After drying, I give it a couple of final coats of clear flat.  For what it's worth, there it is....lol 

Are they letters or white walls?  If its a white wall, how about trying to tape the center and then use a circle template to airbrush the white walls.  Just an idea...
