Now it's my turn to raise a thread from the dead! Don, your car looks very nice. I built one back in 1976, that was subsequently destroyed by my toddler daughter around '82. I recently bought another kit and am planning for that start soon, having saved a lot of reference pics and detail shots.
I read somewhere that Bugatti built over 400 of these cars. I've seen restored and replica versions in several different paint colors. I'm thinking of painting my race car version in a creamy, ivory-like color. I guess I'll just imagine that out of those hundreds, one might have been that color too.
Again, great job on yours Don!

Very nice model Don. This is another one on my list and I finally got the kit earlier this year. Yours is inspirational.
Cheers

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
Beautiful finish, well done.

A very nice model indeed. Just shows what can be done with an old Monogram kit dating back to the 60's. They made a nice range of classics in the old days including Duesenberg, Rolls Royce, Packard and Cord etc. Only Italeri and Heller had a go at any old classics since then.
That's very cool. Gotta love those old Bugattis!
I'd really like to apologize now for anything I may say or do later that offends you. Thank you.
Really nice work! And for the record, I think your color is spot on. Bugatti was very meticulous about their records, right down to the chemistry of the paint. I had the pleasure and honor of actually driving a Type 35 when I lived in Boston. Drove it right down Commonwealth Avenue in Allston.
I had no idea that this kit even existed, but I will certainly be looking for it now!
She was only a whiskey maker, but he loved her still.
Yeah, the machine is sharp! Mr Bugatti sure knew how to build sports cars. Now the brand lives again. The company I'm working at makes the wiring harness for the new Bugattis.
Thanks for sharing, have a nice day

Excellent work ,love the shagalicious base........
Thank you ,Krow113
wing_nut Real sharp Don. Love that color.
Real sharp Don. Love that color.
I mixed Testors Enamel Blue and Light Blue. It may be just a tad on the dark side, but it is hard to tell with cars from that long ago. Very few color pictures then, and do you trust colors you see on restored ones?

There's one I don't see everyday! Um, maybe ever before in kit form and especially built-up?
I like it! Thanks for sharing so I could see it!
Finished Monogram's Type 35 Bugatti. I put it on a base, since the kit includes a neat standing driving figure which I am still working on.
I drilled out the instruments and Microglazed the outside, pasted computer generated dials behind. Outer wheel faces from Andy Martin (Aardvark Models). Added plug wiring and a bit more engine plumbing, though engine detail is marvelous considering when this kit was originally developed!
