Tamiya Nismo R34 GT-R Z-Tune hotel room build? *finished with pics*
Posted by enemeink on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 1:52 PM

So I ended up taking a last minute emergency trip for work. I've been here for almost 2 weeks and was getting pretty bored so I went to a local hobby shop (I use to live in the area so I know it pretty well) and picked up this tamiya kit on clearance and decided to try and do a hotel room build. everything i had purchased for this build was a clearance item (spray paints, brushes etc) just to see if it was possible to build something for fun.

Has anybody else done something like this before? I've been using scotch tape and post it's for masking and so far it's been turning out pretty well. i haven't spray painted anything in the room. i go out side and used the free newspaper i get in the mornigns. I'll post up some pictures when i get a chance if anybody is interested.

I also need to find out what items I can take back with me without running into issues with TSA.

I'm back from my business trip, finally. Here's some pictures that I took from my hotel room. I haven't opened this up since I've been home. I have a basement to finish, so i throw more pictures up when I have more progess to show.

I've decided it's time to get this finished and post the pictures. I had to finish a basement before my daughter was born... pics to be posted this weekend hopefully.

It was nice to build a model car again, it has been a couple of years now. I must say that the fit on the Tamiya kit was amazing. I grew up with AMT and Revell kits and the fits are sometimes not that great. Here's the pics. enjoy!

Thanks TREYZX10R!

about 75% of it was done while I was staying at a hotel. the 25% was just final assembly and some decals. I should have finished it sooner but i had a basement to finish and a baby that came 2 weeks early.

I eyeing one of the new Revell Germany Mercedes kits. i've got some other ship kits in my stash i should finish, and a plank on bulkhead kit that needs my attention.

that's so friggin awsome that you built a model in a hotel.  nice job man considering the part that you did it in a hotel and not at your workbench.
