HEY,
I have used the window tint from the store. It works pretty good, and depending on where you go, they shou8ld have at least a couple of colors or designs for it.

I've read about the use of Future and acrylic paint for window tinting. I've yet to try it. My model building area is in a bit of a relocation plan. From one small corner of the basement to a larger coner of the same. The move is going much slower than expected so all projects are on hold. Looking forward to getting back in the swing of things. willynut

Either method you choose the "Smoke" paint or the actual window tinting film should give you good results. As far as your bumper question, Im not sure if anyone makes an AM bumper for that kit or not....

I have the Revell 240Z kit, and it's windows are fairly straight, so it shouldnt be too hard to use real tint film. 1 box of tint from your local parts store should last several models to say the least.Big Smile [:D]

Welcome to the forum.

Easiest way to tin windows I reckon would be to spray them with a colour called "Smoke", Tamiya and Gunze Snagyo both produce this colour other makers might too.

For other features like silvering the windows or Aurora effect you will need to buy AM film sets.

Hello everyone (a few questions)
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, January 17, 2004 4:10 AM
Hi, i am new to the forums. But i have been building models for as long as i can remember. i still consider myself pretty amateur though. i just finished an early 90s integra with an incredible looking custom interior. but the only thing i don't like it the windows.

so i am now starting on an early 70s 240zx. and i have a few questions i am hoping someone can help with.

first, is there any way to tint the windows? i've been trying to devise a way to do it, but everything i come up with causes more problems or just wouldn't work.

also, it's a revell 1:25 scale model, i am curious if anyone, like a company, makes aftermarket body parts for them. like a diffrent front bumper. i guess thats a kind of silly question...but i'm still curious.

thanks in advance.
