Need info - Does this exist in a scale model
Posted by tknight on Monday, January 19, 2004 8:45 AM
Hi all,
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a model, or diecast, for a 70's era
armoured Brinks style truck.
The project I have in mind is going to require some scratch building to convert it into the APC my Police Service used in the late eighties and nineties.
My searches on the net have been unfruitful.
OR,
Is there a truck model out there of the right era that I can add the right
stuff to to make it into an Brinks truck?

Regards, Tim

There is a kit of a Coca Cola box truck that might be close. It would need the scratchbuilding for the cargo area and such but the cab looks similar to the trucks from that era. It is also big, not sure what scale it is but the coke truck built is about a foot or so. I've seen it at hobby town before.

I'm not too sure if this counts, although, there was a custom car sometime ago called the "Fast Buck". I suppose that it could be turned into a resonable armoured car with a bit of scratch building.
It had a turret on top and a large large combination lock for a back door.

Have you thought about checking some of the "smaller" resin companies?

I'll try to provide some links later when I get home. Spaulding might have one as they deal primarily in trucks. RnD Unique might also offer on or perhaps Perry's Resin....the list goes on.

I have links to all the ones I mentioned so I'll post them once I get home. Perhaps it might be of some help
