Just got my Offy version- completed the Ford a couple months ago. The Offy does not have the chrome sprue with the semi-matt parts! The fully chrome wheels are not appropriate for ninety percent of the KKs on the track- they had the cast surface wheels.
On the other hand, the Edelbrock Ford is a fully restored show car sitting in a museum. The wheels have been polished. The wheels in the Offy kit would look great on the Edelbrock Ford and the matt wheels in the Ford kit would look great for KKs as run "in the day."
I am disappointed that Revell has given up the matt metallic coating. It really looked like cast aluminum and to me was a highlight of the kit. I do intend to swap the wheels when I build the Offy. If you intend to build both versions, and want to build the Edelbrock car with the Ford version, just swap the wheels.
BTW, ordinarily when I want to represent cast aluminum with shiny chrome parts, I spray them with Testors Dullcoat. It was nice on the Ford kit that cast aluminum parts like the rear center section and steering box did not need to be dullcoated.
