If the resin parts are plated then they are ready to use. Just remove any plating from the contact points to promote solid bonding between parts.

You can cut resin with a micro razor saw or use some thread.These should help...

I am a long time builder but taking my first stab at resin. I am converting an R&R 68 Sport Fury to a VIP model (not a major change, really). I have already soaked the body, but do you have to soak the chrome as well? Might seem like a funny question but I never thought of that before I started. I do have to detail paint the tail light assembly, so it would be an issue. Wondering if maybe the caster had to clean the resin in order to apply the plating, meaning I do not have to soak it?

Also, is it hard to cut resin? The resin sanded quickly, but wondering if it is a big job to open the hood, as the casting is pretty thick in this area, and I would have to do something to thin the hood thickness a bit and try to detail the under-hood features a bit?. I could live with a curb side appearance if I had to on this one. If I went ahead and cut the hood out, I already have a detailed chassis/engine done for a 68 Fury convertible that has never been finished....I used a lengthened Charger  chassis on that build.
