This is a kind of technical question, and maybe I'm making too big of a deal out of it...I'm working on a scratchbuilt 1/35 scale WW2 German fire engine - a GLG, to be specific - and the official instructions for the paintwork specify Farbton 30, RAL 840 B 2 (dunkelgruen is Farbton 30, apparently, and RAL 840 is the particular mixture code) as the color for the exterior body. On a previous model I used a Humbrol color which was very close, however, that color (the name of which escapes me) is no longer produced. Looking up the color in the RAL website was unproductive...there is a RAL6029 (Minz/Polizeigruen), but no color chip was provided, nor any mention of Farbton 30. ModelMaster produces a match (1524) to RAL6029, but it's gloss and I had hoped to avoid gloss paints. Does anyone know offhand of a producer of an RAL6029 "lookalike" or who has used the MM 1524?
I'm (hopefully) including a color photo of a GLG painted in the polizeigruen. TIA
