I'm an old 1/4 miler with some burnout smoke still in my lungs and that brings back some fond memories for me. Good for you to build outside of your fave genre and it's a fine job!

Oh yea baby!!  I sold my car (small block Chevy powered rear engine dragster) and quit racing in '82 when I joined the Navy, but it still gives me goose bumps when I hear, "SUNDAY....AT CORDOVA DRAGSTRIP....!!"  I worked at the nuke plant just up the road and drove past the dragstrip everyday.  Friday nights and Saturdays were bracket racing and I'd stop occasionally to reminisce.  My brother built a car just like this one, but without the wing.   Lots o' fun back then. 

I too miss the drag scene, Long nights, the smell of 140 octane and tire smoke and those awesome sounds coming from open headers.

Tuning, getting just the right burnout, the staging game, cutting that perfect reaction time, the launch, getting  that perfect shift, checking time slips and the comorodery of fellow racers.

I am working my way towards building a new rod some day soon.

But for now I can keep in practice working in small scale.

I was wondering if it should have had field or factory applied zimmerit.....

Really fine work on all three models that you posted.....and your wife did an outstanding job on the Prowler.  I too grew up in the 60's and drag racing was my first exposure to motor sports-I still have a soft spot for the gasser's, fuel altered's and front engined top fueler's.

Fantastic work and I'd love to see more examples of your work....and more interest in the auto forums for Group Builds....

Fond memories..."Sunday!  Sunday!, Sunday! At US 30 Dragstrip........"
