White Wall Tires
Posted by berny13 on Sunday, March 9, 2003 6:45 PM
Any suggestions on how to paint on whitewalls on soft rubber tires. My Crown Vic had what we called "Inch Walls" back in the old days. I am trying to get that effect on my tires for my model.

berny13 ...

You might try Shabo "rub-ons" ... I believe they have some 1/24 - 1/25th scale white walls that you rub on to the tire side wall. If your local hobby shop(s) don't carry these, you can try some of the online sites. Good luck and have fun!

I'd make a couple of cirle masks and ten spray with white acrylic paint. Enamel paint won't dry/stick to tires, so you have to use a water based acrylic. Then overcoat with a flat clear.
