Hudson Hornet
Posted by masonme2 on Monday, October 3, 2011 10:13 PM

I just picked up the new Moebius Hudson Hornet kit and was wondering what color to paint the engine block? They have call outs for just about everything else but I don't see one for the engine. In the direction photos it appears to be gold or yellow but I'm not sure. Overall this looks like a great kit, so I can't wait to see the Stock Car version that is coming out soon.

I thought stuff for the stock car version would be included in the kit.  Not so- there will be a special version?  That means I'll have to wait even longer!

Masonme2,

Gold is the correct color for the engine block.

Thanks Matt, it sure looks gold to me in those photos. I'm gonna have to read over the instructions again more carefully and see if it is called out or not. To answer the other question, I believe the Stock Car version will be a separate release because I know the box art is completely different and I don't see any extras in this kit to build an alternate version. Thanks for your help.

Don, I will look forward to your build of this kit because I really enjoyed your build of the Kurtis midget. Hope to see a post of the Hudson when your finished with it.

The stock-car version is due in November and will represent Tim Flock's 1952 No. 91 car. The kit's being produced via a partnership between Moebius and Model King, and will be a limited release. The racing version will include all the racing components and decals, as well as parts to backdate the standard '53 car to '52 specifications.

I just bought two of the '53 kits and I've been itching to get started building!
