I bought both the snap kit and glue version. I finished the snap kit in about 2 hours including some detail painting. The kit looks amazing!! I can't wait to start the glue version.
ok, that's interesting. i'd heard there was two versions, one with petrol engine (real life) and one with turbine engine (per what was said in the show).
My Photo Album
I just got this and am in the process of building it. It does not have a turbine engine option.

Wouldn’t there be something ???
On a scale of nil to omega, six being high, I give it an umlaut.

Sprue-ce Goose BaBill212: Thanks for the info! .... I remember building the original way back when.... not sure, was it an AMT kit long ago? Actually, an AURORA kit- recently re-released by Polar Lights.

barris built four batmobiles. the original is easiest to spot with it's speedo in the steering wheel (copies didn't have this).
rangerj Anyone recall the origin of the TV Batmobile? IIR it was a Lincoln concept car that was "customized" by George Barris. Anyone know for sure, as it has been a long time since I read about the car.

Great stuff on your boards! I was reading the "favorite movie or tv cars" stuff and thought you guys might want to stop by my web site www.starcarcentral.com where we do our modeling in 1:1 scale, and drive them around Hollywood Calif!
I once had a long email conversation with a guy who wanted to know how I built such and such on my batmobile and we went back for weeks before we figured out he was working on a scale model, and I was working on a street legal full size batmobile!
Not mentioned tv movie cars : partridge family bus, The Cat vette, The big Bus, Super van, Lost in space transport, Battlestar Galactica bikes, Street hawk, Airwolf Jeeps, Charlie Angels Mustang, Face's corvette (A-team) TMNT van got one mention, Jurassic park jeep etc we are also on facebook and wordpress blog if you want to see the cars at charity events. Keep up the good work!

Just picked up a copy yesterday and find there are quite a lot of parts in the box.
In fact, the box is stuffed so full of parts that care must be exercised in re-packing or the box won't close. ..
Building this kit will certainly be much better than converting a Futura kit !
BTW........need to print out some spare Bat Insignia?
Look here:

Enjoy the ride!
Thats awesome! Thanks for the heads up.

just letting you know incase you missed it, the 1/25 batmobile is out now.
there are two versions, a snap kit with fictional 'turbine' engine, and a full detail version with either fictional engine or 'actual' ford engine as in the tv car.
