Glueing chrome plated parts

First, you must remove the chrome plating from the contacting surfaces. Then you can use just about any kind of cement or solvent you wish.

Think of chrome plating as you would paint, it prevents the adhesives and solvents from penetrating into the plastic to create the bond.

To remove the chrome from the contact area...scrap or sand lightly until you have at least 90% of it removed.

I prefer using a liquid solvent, a good one won't cause damage or fogging to the chrome.

That's a tough question - if the part must take any forces, two options can be considered first - CA (super glue) or lacquer thiner. Both have their disadvantages - CA can fog the chrome parts (unless you wipe your fingerprints off carefully first), lacquer thinner can also do harm, should it go out of control. So maybe some kind of two-component glue. If the part doesn't need to hold very strong, white glue might also be considered. If the part has to hold something, though, it's very important to remove the chrome plating from the point where the glue will be applied, otherwise the joint will be weak.
